In an undercover investigation, we documented a pig slaughterhouse in Cambodia’s capital, Phnom Penh. At this open-air slaughterhouse, an estimated 600 pigs are killed there every night. Workers operate in pairs: one worker uses a metal rod to pummel the pig’s head, before the other slits the pig’s throat.

We released the investigation and the footage with The Guardian to help expose the suffering of animals who are used in the food industry.

The sound of the club hitting the pigs’ heads will always stay with us, and there’s no doubt that witnessing such brutality to other individuals has taken something from us that we can never get back. But it is only by witnessing, documenting, and telling these stories, that we can hope to create change. Thank you for witnessing, too.
