Horse & Carriage Riding
Horses who are forced to pull heavy carriages suffer unnatural and physically-demanding conditions. Often working every single day in sweltering heat or freezing cold weather, many horses suffer respiratory ailments from constantly breathing exhaust fumes, develop debilitating leg problems from walking on concrete surfaces, and can collapse from heatstroke or suffer traffic-related injuries. Many worn-out horses, broken from the industry, will be deemed too expensive to be maintained in a retirement sanctuary and will instead be sent to slaughter for pet and human consumption.
